James Sutherland-Smith conducted poetry workshops for secondary school students of English in the East Serbian towns of Bor and Negotin on 7 and 8 March. This is part of the British Embassy Days in Serbia and Montenegro, which involve diplomatic and cultural initiatives at a local level to the citizens of Serbia and Montenegro.

James Sutherland-Smith gave a rare reading in Britain at the Poetry-next-the-Sea festival with the poet Katrina Porteous at the John Coleridge Event on Friday, 29 April. He also conducted a poetry workshop at the festival.
